Results of 4th DMP General Assembly (GA04)
- A workshop on "Analogue Legacies in the Digital
Space" was held on 2004/10/25. Read the
Proceedings
- The nature of DMP technical specifications has been
properly defined:
- DMP will develop Technical Specifications of
Interoperable DRM Platform (IDP) as a toolkit of DRM technologies
- DMP Technical Specifications will be
complemented with Use Cases describing how IDP Technologies (tools) can
be integrated to provide complete solutions
- The business use of DMP Technical
Specifications will need End-to-End Conformance. DMP is not
working on this aspect yet, but will do so starting from GA05
- Sixteen responses to the PAV Call for
Proposals were received from
17 companies
- DMP Technical Specifications will be developed
in phases:
- Interoperable DRM Platform Phase I (IDP-1) will be published in April 2005

Working
Draft 1.0 of Interoperable DRM Platform - Phase I has
been approved (access restricted to DMP members)
- It contains selected technologies for
11 DRM tools
- Access to the WD is restricted to DMP
members
- An ad hoc
group has been set up to further develop IDP/1 WD.
- 11 teams have been established to
work on the 11 technologies
- Membership in the ad hoc group is restricted to DMP members
- The ad hoc group will hold a meeting on
2005/01/10-12 in Las Vegas, NV
- Attendance at the meeting is restricted
to DMP members
- An ad hoc
group has been set up to produce a draft Call for Proposals on
"Updating Security Code and Data". Membership in the ad hoc
group is open to interested parties
- DMP is considering the following Uses
Cases
- General
IDP Requirements are currently being developed based on inputs coming
from DMP members and individuals, organisations and companies
external to DMP
- An ad hoc
group will continue the development of General IDP Requirements
- A meeting may be held in Europe in the
December 2004 time frame
- Ad hoc group membership is open
to interested parties
- Contributions for consideration in the
General IDP Requirements should be sent to the ad hoc group Chairman Marc Gauvin (mgauvin@sdaenet)
- A Call for Proposals on additional DRM
technologies (IDP-2) will be issued in January 2005
- DMP is continuing work on Mapping of Traditional
Rights and Usages to the Digital Space
- The DMP work plan has
been aligned to GA04 decisions.
